Cover is Finally Done
I am very excited to share the “Circle for the Earth” cover! It was quite a journey to get the cover done. I did not want to go with just AI, finding a human to draw the building I had imagined for the cover was more time-consuming and difficult than I imagined. After using several artists, I finally got the building and grounds close to what I wanted, but ultimately the drawing did not make it to the cover. The building pictured below is took many iterations and two different designers, but after all that it was not clear enough for the book cover. I ended up with a tipi, instead of the tipi-shaped building I imagined. I will include the drawing below inside the book. I found a designer who brought my vision to life and captured the essence of what this book stands for. Okay, let me tell you about the elements on the cover and how they are represented in the story. The Earth with a circle-shaped bright ring on it represents the light the Earth grants to humanity for a second chance not to make the same mistakes in the past. A Tipi which signifies the cultural heritage and resilience of the South Dakota Native community, serves as a reminder of their roots and the importance of preserving their traditions amidst the chaos of the collision between the modern world and the past. Thunderclouds for the thunder that brought them to the past. It also symbolizes the uncertainty and turbulence of the journey through time, as well as the looming challenges and conflicts that the characters must face. |
Picture that did not make the cover. This is the casino Omimeya that gets transported back in time.
